Federal & provincial govts should be careful about current situation: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman


QUETTA, May 12 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that federal and provincial governments should be careful about the current situation. He said that Balochistan which is enriched with resources there exploitation of farmers and common person is being done by not providing electricity and gas.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing protest sit-in of farmers in front of Balochistan Assembly on Sunday.  On this occasion, Provincial Emir Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, MPA Maulana Hidaitur Rehman Baloch, Dr. Attaur Rehman and farmers’ leader Abdur Rehman were also present. He said that there is no system of water in 34 districts of the province, adding only 29,000 tube wells and provision of electricity only for three hours is mockery with small farmers.

He further stressed upon chief minister Balochistan to take measures as he is representative of federal government, adding Jamaat-e-Islami will stand by farmers of Balochistan at all fronts. Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said that economy of Balochistan depends upon crops and agriculture. Major amount of fruits and vegetables are sold inside and outside the country, he said and added the locals earning depends on agriculture.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the Jamaat-e-Islami demands of the government to end load-shedding forthwith and increase the number of tube wells. He further demanded of the government to provide well organized system of provision of water so that common citizens and farmers could be saved from exploitation. He said tube wells are like backbone of agriculture of the province. He said the government should provide solar energy so that duration of water supply could be increased.

He said in comparison with big farmers, small farmers should be given more perks and privileges so that they could utilize all of their lands so that country’s economy could be made strong. He stressed upon chief minister Balochistan to take decisions so that province could be put on the path of prosperity and development.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said that Balochistan is biggest province of the country and enriched with resources but still it is facing issues. He said there are issues of gas, load-shedding, water, employment, health and education. He said that issue of missing persons has become much serious, adding Jamaat-e-Islami is of the view that until and unless there is just division of resources, peace could not be established in the province.
