Federal & provincial govts non-serious in rehabilitation of people affected by recent heavy rains & catastrophic floods: Sirajul Haq

RAWALPINDI, Dec 07 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that the federal and provincial governments were non-serious in rehabilitation of people affected by recent heavy rains and catastrophic floods.

Sirajul Haq said this while addressing the Volunteers Convention of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan President Muhammad Abdul Shakoor and JI’s Northern Punjab Emir Dr. Tariq Saleem were also present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced aid of Rs 70 billion while money also came from abroad but no-one knew where it was consumed. He said over 87 percent of the Corona funds were misused under the head of administrative expenditures whereas only 13 percent of funds were used for the benefit of the patients.

About 1 million homes were destroyed by the heavy floods but the government didn’t build even a single home for the victims, he said, and deplored our governments had made the natural calamities a source of garnering funds because they were incapable of doing work.

Sirajul Haq said the Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation decided to prepare 1 million volunteers for aid activities during natural calamities and emergencies whose duty would be to serve the human beings of the country irrespective of their colour and caste and appealed to the nation to present them for pious duty.

He said that the country’s politics, society, economy and environment were simultaneously polluted as politics was full of abuses whereas the rulers were found to be in mudslinging. He said a few days ago news about the use of harsh language between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was published in the newspapers and asked what type of lesson they were imparting to the nation.

Sirajul Haq said that the ruling parties were exploiting the masses and instigating the nation on fights and creating division being part of their agenda. He said in a society where there was no justice and the powerful segment mocks the law there could be only social pollution.

He said that interest was a cause of pollution in economy and added that usurers along with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) constitute economic policies of the country. He furthered the masses were told as a good news that there was no danger of default to the country while on the other side the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hardly managed one month salary. He added that Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar were being counted in the world cities full of pollution whereas with regards to corruption statistics Pakistan ranked 140 out of 180 countries.

He said that aid activities of Alkhidmat Foundation were appreciated the world over and added that they will keep continue the service of the nation and country. He said during the recent rains and floods, the masses relied on them proving their confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation. He said the day when people will come to know the significance of their vote in comparison with their money then the real change in the country will begin to occur.

Sirajul Haq said there was no scarcity of resources in the country and the real issue was of their just division, and continued the PDM, PPP and PTI proved them not to be in favour of people uplift as well as country but were hell-bent upon status quo. He said these parties accept agenda conferred to them by oppressive forces and their policies were alike as they played havoc with the country’s economy as well as ideology. These parties also handed over Kashmir to India and submerged the country in the quagmire of loans, he said, adding they made the country a slave of IMF and the US. People ought to be cognizant of the fact that Islamic System is a key to Pakistan’s development and prosperity, he said and further Jamaat-e-Islami is the only single party which can transform the country into an Islamic Welfare State.
