Federal Cabinet approves establishment of an additional special court in Makran Division to deal with narcotics cases in Balochistan province

ISLAMABAD, April 26 (SABAH): The Federal Cabinet has approved establishment of an additional special court in Makran Division to deal with narcotics cases in Balochistan province.

The approval was accorded at a meeting of federal cabinet held in Islamabad on Friday, with Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair.

The court will have jurisdiction over Panjgur, Kech, Gwadar, Hub and Lasbela districts. The cabinet directed for making the prosecution process more effective.

The Cabinet also approved the extension of Proof of Registration (POR) cards of Afghan refugees till 30th June this year, enabling the card holders to avail schools, bank accounts and other facilities in Pakistan.

These POR card holders will be repatriated in the third phase of ongoing repatriation program of illegal nationals residing in Pakistan.

The Cabinet was briefed about progress on privatization of PIA. The cabinet directed the authorities concerned to ensure transparency in this regard.

The meeting was also briefed by the Secretary Aviation about measures taken to improve facilities at airports across the country especially Lahore and Karachi.

The Cabinet was informed that service counters at the airports have been increased and further improvements are being made in facilities.

The meeting was told that consultation with all stakeholders is in the final stage regarding use of drone technology in the agriculture sector.
