Fawad debunks reports Khan requested to meet COAS

ISLAMABAD, March 7 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry categorically rejected the speculations pertaining to PTI Chairman Imran Khan requesting to meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.

In a statement on Tuesday, Fawad Chaudhry said that Imran Khan has never made any request to meet the COAS or any of his representatives.

He stated that President Dr Arif Alvi has “never approached the PTI Chairman with any suggestion of army chief for meeting Shahbaz Sharif” and that any speculations in this regard are “baseless”.

Fawad said that PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and I have been named in another FIR. He went on to say that under an agenda, fake FIRs were being registered against PTI leadership with the aim to strangulate politics in Pakistan and create a system like Burma and North Korea. He mocked that another FIRs could be registered against him for kite flying and staring at police from rooftop.

About Rana Sanaullah arrest warrant, he said: “I hope interior minister will not resist arrest and comply with orders and will not even appeal as this is against PML-N policy as narrated by their leaders in consecutive Pressers.”

He said that problem was all institutions including media was de facto subservient to establishment so ground realities were bitter, for reforms establishment should partner in change, they needed to understand changing realities of Country.

Meanwhile, PTI Senior Vice President Dr. Shireen Mazari raised a question why was government hell-bent on not revealing all the gifts given to different political leaders, civil and military leadership and who took what from Toshakhana? She asked: “Why the fear? Why only Imran Khan revelations and that too in deliberate distortion?”

“One rule must apply to all despite ECP bias and politicization,” she added.

Lashing out at the PDM and handlers, she further stated: “When people shift their own goalposts in subservience – with no conviction of their own! and at that time India was already getting Russian oil with no sanctions! PDM and handlers have moved us to bankruptcy!”

Responding to Asif Zardari, she stated: “Joke! Chairman IK already made clear he will not talk to cabal of crooks! As for selling out institutions Zardari did that as President of Pakistan when he declared he would send ISI Chief to India to be interrogated! He also unilaterally declared No First Use doctrine.

Dr. Mazari went on to say that Haqqani through Asif Zardari ordered Pakistan representative in UN Geneva to withdraw objections to IAEA offering special Safeguards agreement to India on US bidding! “So letter Pakistan had already submitted objecting was withdrawn and new letter submitted within three days – copies were in public domain!”.
