Fate of the rulers would be like that of Ashraf Ghani: Maulana Fazl

CHAMAN, Feb 01 (SABAH): Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan Democratic Movement Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the government was not only illegitimate, it was extremely incompetent and that the fate of the rulers would be like that of Ashraf Ghani. He added that those rulers would flee away the moment they entered the field. Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that National Security Policy was being formulated today and people thought something extraordinary was about to take place as great claims had been made. Amid ongoing process of formulation of National Security Policy, JUI-F chief demanded clarification as to why Pakistan had not devised any security policy for 74 years. He emphasized that instead of working on a security policy; the ruined economic system must be strengthened, which he called the backbone of Pakistan.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed these views while addressing the Ulema Convention in Chaman. He noted that Pakistan lacked foreign policy which was formed when the country had a sound economy. JUI-F chief elaborated that only wise nations longed to enhance business ties with a country having strong economy. He censured the incumbent government for being too incompetent to nurture mercantile relations with the rest of the world.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman was of the opinion that when China started investing, the reins of government of Pakistan were given to current worthless rulers through fraudulent ways. While continuing his criticism, Maulana Fazl added the world was not cooperating with Pakistani rulers because it understood that they were not true representatives of the people of Pakistan. He added that if there was any pro-Pakistan organization in Afghanistan, it was the Islamic Emirate of Afghan Taliban. “The common man has no money to pay electricity and gas bills, pay his children’s school fees and buy edibles from the market’, he added.

While referring to a news story that Pakistan Army had allegedly demanded 50% waiver in electricity bills, Maulana Fazlur Rehman showed disappointment and said that what will happen with country if this is the condition of our defense. “In these circumstances Pakistan’s religious class, Pakistan’s scholars and religious seminaries, who are loyal to Pakistan, are fighting for the survival of this country”, JUI-F chief said. He added that Pakistani rulers were hatching conspiracies against religious scholars. Maulana Fazl remarked that at a time when Pakistan’s economy was downtrodden every time Pakistan and Afghanistan tried to establish mutual trade, borders were closed deliberately.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is now under direct control of International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said that incumbent government has made country poorer and now legislation is being bulldozed from Parliament under pressure of IMF. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that country is being pushed towards slavery of the international financial institution.
