Farooq Rehmani pays rich tribute to Sheikh Abdul Aziz for his great sacrifices
ISLAMABAD, August 10 (SABAH): “Shelkh Abdul Aziz (shaheed e Azeemat), as I know him, stood like a rock for freedom of Kashmir, and laid down his life for the sacred mission of his nation, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and ex-convener All Parties Hurriyet Conference AJ&K in his glowing tributes to the life and struggle of the martyred leader on his 15th death anniversary. He reminded the people equally of those 15 youth who next day in the aftermath of the targeted killing of Sheikh Aziz had joined large protest demonstrations in the Valley and thus were martyred by the Indian police to silence the voice of the people.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, death of Sheikh Abdul Aziz amidst peaceful demonstration along with lakhs of Kashmiri s on the Jehlum Valley Road towards Muzaffarabad/Rawalpindi to demand opening of the traditional public transport route, when the fanatic and fascist Hindu organisations had imposed total blockade over all transportation between J&K and North India to kill the Kashmiris by hunger. As a result, the Kashmiris en mass began their peaceful march towards Muzaffarabad and Rawalpindi to frustrate the nefarious designs of the Indian regime and its racist groups. He said during the march Sheikh Abdul Aziz was targeted and martyred on the spot.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said the conditions had gone horrible during the last 15 years, as many more youth had been killed and the State had been fragmented and illegally merged with India as a cut- piece of its Union Territory in violation of the international law, UNCIP resolutions and promises and bilateral agreements between Pakistan and India. He condemned all such unilateral changes and repressive laws which muzzle press and platform and choke the voice of the people and at the same time treat the inhabitants of Kashmir nothing more the deaf, dumb driven cattle.
He said the pledge of the people to continue their legitimate struggle for freedom would never die down till the right of self-determination is achieved and the Kashmiris across the State welcome dawn of freedom.
