Farooq Rehmani pays rich tribute to Abdul Khaliq Ganai Shaeed on his 29th martyrdom anniversary


ISLAMABAD, Dec 17, (SABAH): ” Abdul Khaliq Ganai Shaheed alias Jamal Afghani, was a great patriot and freedom fighter, who laid down his life for the sacred cause of Kashmir on 16th December, 1993, in custody of Indian occupation troops in Kupwara and proved that liberation is every Kashmiri’s priority of life”, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and senior Hurriyat Conference leader while paying glowing tributes to Abdul Khaliq Ganai Aka (Jamal Afghani), on his 29th martyrdom anniversary.

Farooq Rehmani said that the martyred leader had spent his student age and youth life from 1970s to 1993, fighting the cause of freedom for his homeland. He was laid to rest in his native town Kaloosa Bandipora amid thousands of mourners.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani paid tribute to all the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir and at the same time condemned India’s neo- colonialism, totalitarian Hindutva regime, repression and strangulation of press and media, continued arrests and long imprisonments, seizure of properties, and bulldozing of houses and imprisonment of human rights activists, journalists across Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the present period of Kashmir beginning from 5 August 2019 would be written as the darkest one of Indian occupation since 1947. He urged upon UN to intervene in the these tragic conditions and appealed to big Arab brother regimes to use their economic, diplomatic and other ways and means for a just and peaceful solution of the dispute in line with the UN Charter and resolutions and also take note of steps taken by India against Islam and Muslim demography in Kashmir.
