ISLAMABAD, June 15 (SABAH): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and former Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid glowing tributes to the struggle and sacrifice of Nazir Ahmad Shah shaheed commander of Jehad Force in 1993-1994. He said that Shaheed Nazir Ahmad Shah was a leading freedom fighter during the 1980s and 1990s and had took over as the chief of Jehad Force, when its chief Abdul Khaliq Ghanai known as Jemal Afghani was martyred by the Indian occupation forces. His successor Nazir Ahmad Shah led the struggle of freedom successfully till he was nabbed and arrested by the Indian occupation forces and murdered in custody on 15 June 1994.
His martyrdom news had sent shock waves throughout the Valley and people observed shutter-down for three days. It’s shocking that today people are not permitted to offer prayers to these martyrs , but they are alive and inspire generations. In Kaloosa Bandipore, the martyred leader’s kith and kin offered Fateh and recited Quran for the blessings of the departed soul.
In the meantime, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has castigated the Indian regime for their hegemony and repression over Kashmir, while the right of self-determination is UN guarenteed right to the people of Kashmir. The regime ruthlessly continued its illegal operations in all parts of the illegally Occupied State and the NIA through its raids and seizure of properties was refusing to abide by the international law.
He condemned NIA action Moulana Rehmtullah Qasmi patron of a religious seminary of North Kashmir at Bandipore. He said its implications can never be good for India, as such religious heads never took part in politics.
He demanded release of all political detenus from jail and the cases against all including Yasin Malik be withdrawn to pave wayfor a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute through dialogue and international mediation with the stakeholders.
