Farooq Rehmani pays glowing tributes to the Muslims of Jammu, who were massacred on 6 November 1947
ISLAMABAD, Nov 05, (SABAH): The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and Ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyet Conference AJ&K, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, while paying glowing tributes to the Muslims of Jammu, who faced brutal wrath of unbridled Hari Singh forces and RSS gangs and were massacred about 3 lakhs on 6 November 1947 and women gang raped in history’s unparalleled and most shameful way with impunity; the tragedy of 1947 Muslims was never investigated nor simply addressed by India or later by United Nations.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Farooq Rehmani said that the Muslims of Jammu were ruthlessly massacred for being Muslims, and many faced fearful odds when they crossed into Pakistan territory and those who left behind bore brunt of Indian onslaught in 1965 and 1971 and continue to be targeted even today. He said that since decades the Muslim population in Jammu was under rapid decline and after having passed the new law of domicile under the Re Organisation Act, majority of Indians and ex- service men had obtained state residence and citizenship in Jammu. During this aggressive campaign of settler-colonial policy of India, Jammu had seized to be a majority Muslim province after 47 and especially in the aftermath of 2019 plan of dismemberment of the State in the Union Territory of Delhi. However, the Muslims of Jammu along with other suppressed classes and the Muslims of Kashmir Valley have formed unity to fight back the settler policy of India and RSS, he remarked. Martyrs of Jammu Zindabad.
Meanwhile Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has strongly condemned Indian authorities of Enforcement Directorate (ED) for attaching the house of APHC and DFM President Shabir Ahmed Shah in Srinagar on fake accusations by the NIA, while he continues to face fabricated trial as a prisoner in Tihar Jail for a long time.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that it was the Indian vindictive policy as India was following settler- colonial policy of making Kashmir a permanent colony of Delhi rulers. The UN authorities and HR organisations must take note of the latest step by India against the detained Kashmiri leader and initiate necessary clauses of the UN Human rights manifesto to censure the same.
