Farooq Rehmani condoles over demise of Nazir Shawl

ISLAMABAD, Dec 30 (SABAH): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Prof. Nazir Ahmed Shawl in London last night. 

In his message to Begum Shamim Shawl over the latter’s death, he stated that he was also himself grieved to hear the sad news of Shawl Sahib’s death, whose services were still needed for the cause of the political freedom of Jammu and Kashmir. 

He said that in his death, Kashmir had lost a great political leader and intellectual, who contributed so much in different capacities to the freedom movement of Kashmir. While paying tribute to the life and works of the deceased , he remarked that Shawl Sahib was a prolific writer and poet who authored books and English verses on political and philosophical topics and finally passed away with contentment to meet the Lord of the Universe.
