Farooq Rehmani condemns ban on J&K Muslim League & abhorrent treatment with innocents in Ponch

ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (SABAH) : Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League, has strongly condemned India’s action of banning the J&K Muslim League as against democratic and constitutional thread of facing public demand of freedom and the right of self-determination as envisaged in the relevant UN resolutions.

He said the UN should take note of the BJP regime’s undemocratic and inhuman practices against the human rights, civil liberties and fundamental freedoms and right which were being trampled under jakeboots in Kashmir. India must be given a clear message by the World Body that her actions against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their rights to free speech, assembly and forming of their own organisations was tantamount to the modern concept of state. He called for lifting of ban on all political parties and humanitarian and social welfare trusts and institutions in the occupied region.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, castigated Indian rulers and police for torturing and humiliating to death, some civilian innocents, who were picked up by the Indian troopers from their homes without any solid proof of violence, stripped and inhuman and abhorrent treatment was meted out to them in custody. He said Indian police’s such repeated practices were against the human dignity and tyranny would never help India to build an international reputation of a tolerant society and a viable progressive state.
