Farooq Rehmani condemns arrest of renowned lawyer Mian Abdul Qayoom of Jammu and Kashmir & others on dubious charges

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (SABAH): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter, has condemned arrest of renowned lawyer Mian Abdul Qayoom of Jammu and Kashmir and others on dubious charges and wave of indiscriminate combined military and police operations in Jammu and Riasi divisions and registering of false cases against peaceful civilians and youth to create impediments in their jobs and employments. 

He said that the Kashmir dispute was the cause of uncertainty and instability of the region while the Indian regime scared of the will of people was using illegal religious and non political arbitrary methods to change religion and culture and demography to show that the majority of the Kashmiris stood by India. He accused Indian racist Hindutva leadership of maneuverings in the forthcoming Assembly elections to thrust BJP on the people of Kashmir. 

He stated that although the so called Yoga international a religious practice of Hindus had no relationship with the Muslim community of Jammu and Kashmir, still the PM Modi came here and celebrated it in the Muslim majority capital Srinagar. He  warned that the BJP leadership was depoliticising the Kashmir dispute and making it a religious issue by its authoritarian methods to grant domicile certificates to the Indian Hindus in overwhelming numbers to first control the Assembly , then occupy seat of Srinagar and finally rule the State with a thumping majority. But such conspiracies , he said could face a radical response at any time as it were against the UN Charter and its relevant resolutions. 

 He said that the Indian Hindutva regime must be aware of the fact that Kashmir was neither a religious issue nor a bilateral India-Pakistan land or sheep and goats dispute. It was a question of the right of self-determination and under all circumstances , finally the political will of the people of all the regions of this country would hold sway over every other factor of the region. By attempting to change the religion and demography of this historical country with the enactment of arbitrary laws the BJP regime and its leadership would have to face a havoc in Kashmir , in the region and across the world.
