Ex-Director News PTV Riffat Nazir passes away

ISLAMABAD, August 10 (SABAH): Former Director News of Pakistan Television (PTV), Riffat Nazir has passed away on Wednesday. The funeral prayers of Riffat Nazir will be offered at 12:30 PM tomorrow (Thursday) at H-11 Islamabad graveyard.

Riffat Nazir also worked as head of the English Channel of PTV. She also accompanied important government personalities during their foreign visits.

She carried out her duties diligently particularly in the journalism. She worked as reporter, producer and editor in PTV. Her husband Nazir Tabassum also remained on high position in PTV. 

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Secretary Information Shaheera Shahid and Managing Director PTV Syed Mubashir Touqeer Shah and other higher authorities and PTV staff have expressed their condolences over the death of Riffat Nazir.

She was suffering from cancer since long and got treatment from the United States after which her health improved considerably; however, some time ago her health deteriorated once again. She was shifted to a local hospital of Islamabad on Wednesday morning after developing breath problem. Later on she passed away.
