Ex-Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yasturul Haq Malik passes away in Lahore


LAHORE/ISLAMABAD, Dec 04, (SABAH): Former Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yasturul Haq Malik has passed away in Lahore. He was a prominent figure in the Pakistan Navy and served with distinction.

Admiral Yasturul Haq Malik joined the Pakistan Navy in 1954 and made significant contributions during his career. He participated in both the 1965 and 1971 Pakistan-India wars.

He served as the Chief of Naval Staff from 1988 to 1991, playing a vital role in the modernization of the Navy.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf expressed his condolences on the passing of Admiral Yastoral Haq Malik, paying tribute to his exceptional service to the nation.

Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed their deep grief over the death of former Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yasturul Haq.

In their separately issued statements, the president and prime minister expressed their condolences over the passing of former Naval chief.

They lauded the late Yasturul Haq’s unforgettable services for the defence and security of the country.

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz prayed for departed soul’s peace and strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
