Establishment should stop interfering in politics if it wants to avoid public criticism: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD, Nov 28 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said the military establishment provided backing for the formation of incumbent and former governments in Pakistan.

“Establishment should stop interfering in politics if it wants to avoid public criticism,” Sirajul Haq added while addressing the participants of youth march in Islamabad on Sunday. Sirajul Haq while demanding impartial Election Commission said that only transparent elections could brighten the future of the country. He said that overseas Pakistanis are demanding that their representative should also be elected from abroad. He said that today’s youth march is warning that if the rulers will not mend their way then they will soon come to Islamabad again. He said that corrupt leadership has been imposed on the country, which has committed Rs 40 billion corruption in corona fund. He said that the youth are forced to burn their degrees, adding that the government has become the message of death for the masses. He said that no mega project or hospital was installed during the era of current government, adding that different decisions are made in courts for the poor and rich people. He said that corrupt mafia and Pakistan could not move forward jointly. Sirajul Haq said that the rulers imposed on the nation are the production of the nurseries of the establishment and foreign agents. He said that current and former governments came into power with the backing of the establishment.

The JI Youth Pakistan organized the march of unemployed educated people from across the country in the federal capital to protest against the joblessness and inflation.

Thousands of participants of the march raised slogans against the anti-youth policies of the government. Reminding the prime minister his promise to create 10 million jobs, the protestors marched from Ambassy Road to D-Chowk and vowed to continue struggle for their rights until the rulers ensure provision of their rights.
Sirajul Haq said it had been proved after three years that PTI lacked capacity and vision to run the country. Unemployment and inflation were uncontrolled and more than 20 million children were out of schools due to poverty, he said, adding the ruling elite never paid attention to the common man issues whether it was the government of the PTI or the former regimes of the PML-N and the PPP.

The JI chief said the people from Karachi to Gwadar were protesting for their rights but the rulers were not willing to listen to their demands. He demanded the government address the demands of fishermen of Gwardar and ensure compensation to the Nasla Town affectees. He also raised the issue of missing persons, reminding the prime minister his old claims about the long lingering tragedy. He said the rulers must address the deprivations of the people of Balochistan. He also congratulated JI Youth President Zubair Gondal for organizing a peaceful and successful march of the youth.

Sirajul Haq said the nation must stand for their rights and launch a peaceful struggle to get rid of the ruling elite. He said youth instead of being hopeless, should fight against the oppressors. He said the country could not go ahead without sending home the feudal lords and agents of the status quo. JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, JI Deputy Chief Mian Muhammad Aslam, Emir JI Central Punjab Javed Kasuri, Emir JI North Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem, President JI Youth Pakistan Zubair Gondal and other leaders also spoke on occasion.
