ESaR Expert Group on Security holds inaugural meeting
ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (SABAH): The ESaR Expert Group on Security held its inaugural meeting which was attended by prominent figures and experts on security and Defense matters including Lt. Gen (retd) Naeem Lodhi, Air Marshal (retd) Muhammad Iqbal, Air Marshal (Retd) Farooq Habib, Engineer Shahabuddin, and Syed Belal, President ESaR.
The meeting was highly interactive. All the members participated and expressed their view and proposed suggestions as well. During the meeting, Syed Belal briefly outlined the purpose of the Expert Group, emphasizing the need to address pressing security challenges through actionable and achievable goals. The group agreed to organize a series of roundtables and seminars on security
Lt. Gen (retd) Naeem Lodhi, the in charge of this group, highlighted plans to expand the group by incorporating more experts in the coming months. He expressed that to ensure continuous progress, the group will hold monthly meetings, alternating between online sessions and physical gatherings.
It was emphasized in the meeting that, a special session with all major think tanks operating in Pakistan working with focus on Security should also be convened. This may develop comprehensive and practical solutions for the nation’s security framework. A roundtable will be organized soon on “Political Polarisation and its Impact on National Security”
