Ensuring protection of basic rights of labour & working class priority of incumbent Parliament: Raja Pervez Ashraf
ISLAMABAD, June 17 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that labour and working class are vital part of Pakistani community. He said that socio-economic stability of the country is interlinked with welfare of the the labour class. He also said that working class especially Pakistani diaspora working class is participating for economic stability of the country.
He expressed these views during his meeting with Chaudhry Yaseen, General Secretary CDA Union and Paolo Pozzo Director ISCOS in Parliament House on Friday.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that trade unions are necessary to protect the basic right of working class. While commenting upon the unskilled labour force of Pakistani diaspora, he stressed on the need to upskill working and Labour class. He also stressed on the need to to coordinate with Ministry of Manpower and overseas Pakistanis to ensure the provision of fundamental rights to working class of Pakistani diaspora. He said that working and Labour class have been the main strength of Pakistan economy. He also appreciated the struggle of worker welfare foundation to provide legal advocacy especially to Brick Kilns workers. While appreciating the work of Director Paolo Pozzo ISCOS, he said that Pakistan and Italy shared family traditions and culture of acceptance. He said that Pakistani diaspora in Italy are contributing for economic stability of the country.
Chaudhry Yaseen, General Secretary CDA Union expressed his gratitude to Speaker for providing this opportunity. He said that CDA trade union is working in close liaison with all international organization to legally support working and Labour class.
Paolo Pozzo Director Trade Union Institute for International Cooperation (ISCOS) said that his organization is working in close cooperation with Pakistan unions. He also briefed the meeting regarding basics of projects in Pakistan for ensuring basic rights of workers.
