Eng. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman asks govt to rebuild the road between 4K Chowrangi & Gulshan-e-Memar

KARACHI, Dec 18, (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded of the government to rebuild the road between 4K Chowrangi and Gulshan-e-Memar and warned of agitation if the authorities fail to comply with the just demand of Karachiites.

Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman issued the warning while addressing a family protest demonstration held at the Allahwali Chowrangi on Sunday. A large number of area residents along with their families, whereas delegations from adjoining areas and representatives of the business community also participated in the demonstration. The protestors, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the PPP government in Sindh and its aide the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

The JI will stage a big protest demonstration to announce its next course of action, if the government fails to kick off the reconstruction work in near future, announced Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.

He further said that tax payers in Karachi submit their taxes for development and progress of the city and the country and not to quench the endless greed of the ruling parties. The ruling elite enjoys luxuries with the taxpayers’ money but doesn’t spend funds for reconstruction of roads, he said, adding that the government spends money on road network only when those at the helm of affairs were assured of the lion’s share in funds. The JI leader said that the PPP government has been ruling over the Sindh province for the past 14 years but it couldn’t deliver because the progress and development for the common man was not on the agenda of the feudal mindset that constitutes the top brass of the party.

He further said that the MQM claimed to be the representative of Karachi but on ground the party always used its mandate as bargain chip for monetary gains, perks and opportunities for corruption, instead of the progress and development of the mega city.

Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further said that it was the JI that served the megalopolis relentlessly whenever provided with an opportunity. He highlighted that the city progressed significantly during the tenures of mayors Abdul Sattar Afghani and Nematullah Khan.

He shed light in detail on the water supply projects, transport facilities, including fleets of busses, construction of educational institutes, roads and underpasses, sports facilities, hundreds of parks and other facilities bestowed to Karachi under the rule of the JI.

Talking about the issues of Karachi, he also highlighted the lawlessness prevailing in the city and skyrocketing deadly street crimes. He demanded of the government to redesign the police department and bring in at least 80 percent locals in the contingents that are tasked with policing Karachi.

He urged masses to come forward and support the JI on January 15, 2023 in order to initiate the journey of Karachi’s development and progress from the same point it was discontinued at the culmination of Nematullah Khan’s tenure.
