Embassy of Pakistan in Hanoi organizes an int’l conference titled ‘Int’l Conference on 50 Years of Vietnam-Pak Diplomatic Relations’


HANOI, Nov 10, (SABAH): An international conference titled “International Conference on 50 Years of Vietnam-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations”, was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Hanoi in collaboration with Vietnam Institute of Indian and Southwest Asian Studies to celebrate the completion of 50 years of diplomatic relations.

Organization of international conference was aimed at re-invigorating the bilateral ties and stirring much needed discussion among the policymakers of Vietnam and Pakistan regarding the bilateral relationship.

Chief guest of the conference was Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Assistant Minister/Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

During her remarks, she hoped that the consistent efforts from both sides would lead to strengthening of the bilateral ties.

During her welcome remarks Mrs. Samina Mehtab, Ambassador of Pakistan to Vietnam, overviewed the current status of the bilateral relations and looked forward to the discussion during the conference. A cake cutting ceremony was also held during the Conference.

The Conference was attended by more than 100 delegates from various departments of both countries, members of diplomatic corps, scholars, and businesspersons. Conference was held in hybrid format and several participants joined via zoom.

The conference comprised of four sessions covering all major spheres of bilateral interaction including political relations, trade, investment, tourism, and information technology. Around 20 research scholars and representatives of relevant departments from Pakistan and Vietnam shed light on the bilateral ties.

During the conference, speakers from both sides had an extensive discussion on 50 years of bilateral relationship and proposed strategies to strengthen the relationship.
