ECP not providing a level playing field during general elections: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman
KARACHI, Jan 17 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is not providing a level playing field during general elections.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views during addressing women workers convention at Railway Ground held under women wing Jamaat-e-Islami district janoobi. The convention was also addressed by emir district janoobi and candidate for NA-240, candidate PS-106 Syed Abdur Rasheed, candidate NA-241 Naveed Ali Baig, Candiate PS-109 Muhammad Zikar Mehnti and candidate PS-110 Sofian Dilawar.
On the occasion, Nazima Sindh Rukhshinda Munib, Nazima Karachi Javaidan Faheem, Naib Nazima Karachi Farah Imran, Shiba Tahir and others were also present.
Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi further said someone is being brought as monarch and somewhere else electoral symbol is being taken back. From Karachi to Chitral, symbol of development is one and only “Scale,” he stressed.
In the Sindh interior, he said the farmers and tenants consider Jamaat-e-Islami as their Messiah and added Sindhi youth has same aspirations from Jamaat-e-Islami. Ume Rubab Chandio has stood up against feudal landlords of Sindh, he said and added she is not along but Jamaat-e-Islami is with her.
Together with the people, he said they would defeat notables and feudal landlords. In Sindh, the women who work in fields are not given their rights, he added. February 8 will be a day of getting rid of notables and feudal landlords, he added.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further said that Jamaat-e-Islami would run elections campaign and added it would also support Palestinians. Israel is making bombardment on citizens and residents of Gaza are also protecting Masjid Al-Aqsa, he said and continued they would not forget Palestinians at any cost.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will stage a sit-in against gas crisis on Jan 18 at Sui Sothern Head Office. He further said cruel rulers have destroyed generations of citizens of Karachi and added now the youth is disappointed.
