ECP grants two weeks time to PTI for submitting reply of show notice in Foreign Funding Case
ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (SABAH): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has granted two weeks time to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to submit reply of the show-cause notice in the Foreign Funding Case.
Five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja conducted the hearing of the case.
PTI counsel Shah Khawar Advocate appeared before the Election Commission of Pakistan and argued that they had requested the ECP four week time during the previous hearing and further argued that he had demanded information from PTI foreign chapters and it will take time in receiving this information.
To this, the chief election commissioner said that duration of two weeks has already passed while member election commission remarked that hearing of this case had already kept on for eight years.
Counsel for PTI Shah Khawar said that information was very important and he had asked for NICOP and several other documents of Pakistani donors.
On this the ECP granted two week to the PTI. The chief election commissioner asked to submit reply ahead of this date so that the hearing of arguments could be started on the next hearing. Hearing of the case was adjourned till September 19, 2022.
