ECP de-notifies 43 more lawmakers of PTI as members of the National Assembly immediate effect
ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (SABAH): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday de-notified 43 more lawmakers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as members of the National Assembly (MNAs) with immediate effect.
The development comes a day after National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted their resignations despite their announcement to withdraw their resignations in a bid to bar opposition leader Raja Riaz Ahmed Khan, a dissident PTI leader, from negotiating with the government on caretaker set-up in case general elections are announced.
The move has taken the tally of PTI resignations approved by the speaker to 124 as he approved 70 earlier this week and 11 in August last. The resignations were submitted by the PTI MNAs in April last in protest against the ouster of Imran Khan as prime minister through a no-confidence vote.
According to the notification issued by the by Deputy Director Coordination ECP Muhammad Nasir Khan on Wednesday, the resignations have been accepted from 22nd January. The notification has been issued by the order of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The Election Commission of Pakistan de-notified following members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Wednesday, Anwar Taj, Muhammad Yaqub Sheikh, Gul Zafar Khan, Jawad Hussain, Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq, Zulfqiar Ali Khan, Haji Imtiaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Malik Muhammad Ehsanullah Tiwana, Raza Nasrullah Ghumman, Muhammad Riaz Khan Fatiyana, Muhammad Mehboob Sultan, Muhammad Ameer Sultan, Rahat Amanullah Bhatti, Rai Muhammad Murtaza Iqbal, Mian Muhammad Shafiq, Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal Warraich, Muhammad Shabbir Ali Qureshi, Niaz Ahmed Jakhar, Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood, Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Sardar Tariq Hussain, Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak, Manazza Hassan, Dr. Seemin Abdul Rehman Bokhari, Sobia Kamal Khan , Nausheen Hamid, Rubina Jamil, Fauzia Behram, Rukhsana Naveed, Tashfeen Safdar, Syma Nadeem, Ghazala Saifi, Nusrat Wahid, Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, Sajida Begum, Nooreen Farooq Khan, Uzma Riaz, Zile Huma, Shaeen Naz Saifullah, Lal Chand, Shunila Ruth, Jai Parkash and Jamshed Thomas.
