Economy of the country growing rapidly: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says the economy of the country is growing rapidly despite Corona pandemic due to prudent and effective policies of the government.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday, along with the Minister of National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam, he said it is expected that the country will continue its GDP growth with 5 percent during this fiscal year.

He said the sales of tractors, vehicles and other agricultural machinery have been increased.

Speaking on the occasion, the Food Minister said the country has witnessed record agri-production due to agricultural policy framework of the Prime Minister. He said that special focus is also being paid to standard agricultural education in the country. He said special focus is need to be paid on standard research and technical training.

He said that the production of wheat was 27.5 million ton last year while the production of cotton 9 million bales.

Meanwhile Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says people have confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan that he will not do anything for personal gain.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said whether it is a Transparency International survey or any other it was proved that the current government does not have any corrupt elements.

The Minister said according to a recent survey of Transparency International, eighty-nine percent people support the government’s measures against Covid-19, which is a great achievement for us.
