Due to controversial reserved seats, election of President, PM & speaker have become controversial: Omar Ayub Khan

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (SABAH): Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan has said that due to controversial reserved seats, election of the President, Prime Minister and speaker have become controversial. He said that these elections should have to be e held again.

Omar Ayub Khan said this while talking to media persons after holding meeting with the US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome. He further said they have talked about supremacy of constitution and law with the ambassador while they didn’t talk about the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. He said they talked about baseless cases, adding Ministry of Foreign Affairs had informed us about the meeting with the US ambassador.

The US ambassador did not answer to many questions of media and silently left the Parliament House. In the meeting, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser were also present.

Omar Ayub Khan further said that they don’t take up their internal issues with any foreign ambassador, adding they talked about transparent democracy in the country. He said the world see whether there is political economic stability for the investment and judiciary is doing independent decisions.

Regarding reserved seats, Supreme Court has announced decision, he said and added from day one they are saying this. He said they talked about it during elections of President, Prime Minister and Speaker. Reserved seats were taken with rigging.  “Your prime minister, president, speaker and deputy speaker have become controversial,” he commented.

He said they could not make decision on big issues, adding there is disorder in the country and businesses have been shut down. He said that inflation has increased. He said wheat scandal has emerged, adding like hockey match they are passing ball to each other. During the meeting, they welcomed the Saudi Arabia trade delegation and added there is need of investment environment in the country.
