Dubbing Yasin Malik a terrorist is vicious political agenda of current govt of India: JKLF
SRINAGAR, Nov 23 (SABAH): Prime Minister Narendra Modi led current extremist government of India is hell bent upon to fulfill its vicious political agenda of branding the most popular pro-freedom people’s political leader of the State of Jammu Kashmir and the illegally incarcerated JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, as a dreaded terrorist to accomplish its sinister design against him.
This was stated by Muhammad Rafiq Dar, the chief spokesman of JKLF and special representative of Yasin Malik.
While responding to a suggestion put forward by division bench of Supreme Court of India comprising upon Justice Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih, the JKLF spokesman said that transfer of cases and setting up of a separate courtroom inside the high security Delhi Tihar Jail premises may once again provide ample opportunity to government of India to follow unfair means.
The transfer of cases, filed against Malik and his associates, and setting up of separate court was suggested by the division bench on November 21st during a hearing of a petition filed in Supreme Court last year by CBI against the repeated production orders of Yasin Malik made by Jammu TADA court, he informed.
The JKLF spokesman termed the suggestion tantamount to giving free hand to government and its agencies to unfairly and unjustly punish Yasin Malik, like they did in a specially designated NIA court on May 25, 2022 in concocted cases filed by NIA.
He further informed that a peaceful political leader like Yasin Malik, since last over five and half years’ time, is not physically able to appear before the court of law and fulfill his right to cross examine the witnesses. For this, the Modi government ridiculously, through a vicious media campaign, is falsely portraying him (Yasin Malik) as a high security risk terrorist, the spokesman ridiculed.
According to the statement issued from the party’s central information office, the JKLF spokesman expressed his doubt that with the establishment of a separate courtroom in jail premises, the Modi government may use the opportunity to accomplish its sinister design against Yasin Malik.
He said that Yasin Malik has been the worst victim of political vendetta at the hands of the current regime in India, and expects the saner elements at this point in time, especially the civil society and human rights activists, of India to rise up and save Yasin Malik.
The JKLF spokesman expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the death of a senior party leader Wajahat Bashir Qureshi who breathed his last yesterday in Srinagar. He was suffering from kidney failure for a few years now, the spokesman informed.
Terming his death as his personal loss, Rafiq Dar said that Wajahat Qureshi was a good friend and a great companion too. As a true freedom fighter he successfully withstood every test he went through during the freedom struggle, the spokesman said that he was even jailed for years together.
The entire party leadership in Srinagar after offering Nimaz-e-Jinaza attended his funeral as well, he said. The spokesman said that the party leadership from across the globe while expressing their condolences prayed for his maghfirah and highest place in Jannah along with the patience to the deceased family.
In the meantime the party spokesman again condemned the offloading of its party president Sajid Mehmood from Islamabad International Airport who after a court verdict in his favor tried to fly for UAE. The airport authorities this time informed him that he was offloaded because of a newly registered FIR in AJK Kotli PS against him, the statement read.
