Dr. Alvi approves resignation of Chuahdy Sarwar as Governor Punjab, appoints Omar Sarfaraz Cheema as new governor Punjab

ISLAMABAD, April 03 (SABAH): While acting upon the advice of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, President Dr. Arif Alvi has approved the removal of Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar from the position of Governor of the Punjab and appointed Omar Sarfraz Cheema as Governor Punjab under the Article 101 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.

Earlier on Sunday, Federal Government removed Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar from his post and appointed Umer Sarfaraz Cheema as new Governor.

This was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in his tweets on Sunday.
