Dr. Aafia Siddiqui never charged of terrorism: Fowzia Siddiqui

KARACHI, Nov 01, (SABAH): Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is not a US citizen but instead she is a Pakistani and all allegations against her are false and fabricated, said Aafia Movement Chairman and noted neurophysician of the country Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui.

Addressing a seminar on human rights violations at the Islamic Cultural Center Oslo, Norway, she regretted that the governments of USA and Pakistan are not considering the humanitarian aspects of the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

She said transfer of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui from Afghanistan to the USA was illegal and so was her trial in a US court. She said there was no allegation of terrorism on Dr Aafia. She was a highly qualified educational scientist, educated and trained in a prestigious US educational institution. She said Dr. Aafia Siddiqui wanted to serve the Pakistani children in education sector.

She said human rights organizations and civil society not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world are demanding an early release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

She appealed to the US administration to consider Dr. Aafia case purely from humanitarian grounds and ensure her early repartition so that this Pakistani mother could rejoin her children.

Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui also addressed another program in Oslo on human rights and highlighted the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
