Doubtful envelops & powder in them received by judges of high court is tantamount to deteriorating the situation: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, April 3 (SABAH): Acting Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch has said that doubtful envelops and powder in them received by judges of high court is tantamount to deteriorating the situation. He said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa should investigate issue of letter of six judges as well as doubtful envelops received by eight judges.

In a statement, Liaqat Baloch said that women and minority representatives have not taken oath on reserve seats of provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to which Electoral College is incomplete. Same is the situation in the National Assembly and Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan assembly. In the provincial assembly, elections of Senate are also doubtful. In this situation, election of chairman and deputy chairman Senate will practically be against the Constitution. Upper House is practically non-operational now and election of new members is also controversial which working depends on final decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Liaqat Baloch said why controversies of reserved seats and newly-elected Senate members erupted? This question is for all political, democratic and parliamentary parties, he said. He said if parties do not conduct intra parties election and bring democracy in them then establishment can hold all the parliamentary system hostage. 

He said that doubtful envelops and powder in them received by judges of high court is tantamount to deteriorating the situation. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami condemns this nefarious act ongoing with the judges, adding who is playing game of interference and pressure. He said that Chief Justice of Pakistan should investigate issue of letter of six judges as well as doubtful envelops received by eight judges.

Liaqat Baloch said that opposition parties gathered on aftar dinner at residence of chief of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and newly-elected Senator Raja Nasir Abbas wherein clear interference of establishment in elections, democracy and parliamentary system was discussed.
