Double standards exist in courts as judges have their own criterion of justice: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, Mar 30 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that double standards exists in the courts, as judges have their own criterion of justice. He said PDM, PPP and PTI wanted verdicts according to their will whereas the courts announce decisions in the light of people status and faces.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing the central working committee of Jamiat Talaba Arabia on Thursday. He further said that different standards of justice prevail in the society as these are different for the unprivileged and unprivileged segments of the society. Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch was put behind the bars as he raised the voice of the voiceless and the involved in murder of hundreds of people come out of jails while making victory signs in this land of ours, he deplored.

“Hazrat Ali (RA) stated may exist in the presence of heresy but in the environment of injustice and barbarism. In the World War II, Wintson Winston said if the British cannot be defeated if its courts were delivering justice,” Sirajul Haq remarked and “injustice has been ruling the country since 75 year due to which we lost half part of the country whereas situation in the rest is known by everyone. Nation should come forward to decide its future line of action for the sake of an Islamic and advanced country otherwise situation will remain as it.” He said Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wish for verdicts according to their will whereas the courts issue judgments in the light of people status and faces.

He demanded of the government to release Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch forthwith after discharging from are spurious charges charged against him and continued the people belonging to Gwadar were demanding their rights but no alms. “Gwadar is a game-changer. Development of the locals is a need of hour. Illegal checkposts should be eliminated. Trade at government level should be allowed. Locals need to be given facilities of education and health. How it is possible that outsiders become billionaires there while locals are not provided even with potable water,” he added.

Sirajul Haq furthered the government would be held responsible if the masses of Gwadar were not provided their rights and continued that Jamaat-e-Islami will take up case of Balochistan as  well as Gwadar at every forum including courts, houses and bazaars. “Not only Gwadar but the entire province is suffering from hardships and deprivations. Every government makes promises of making development in Balochistan but no-one fulfilled them. Baloch feudal lords, establishment and governments jointly involved in exploitation of the masses. Province is facing worst kind of poverty. Bloch youth is educated but there are no jobs for them,” he added.
