Donations received by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan for flood affectees have crossed Rs 6 billion mark: Liaqat Baloch
ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (SABAH): Acting Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that the donations received by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan for the flood affectees have crossed Rs 6 billion mark. He said that the national leadership through consultations should devise the strategy for complete rehabilitation of the flood affectees. Liaqat Baloch said that this is not time of confrontation; rather it is time of uniting the nation. He said that if the rulers not do this than they are deprived of human feelings.
This was stated by Liaqat Baloch while addressing a ceremony organized to dispatch the convoy of the 24 trucks consisting of the relief goods worth Rs 100 million for the flood affected areas.
Liaqat Baloch said that the whole Pakistan is worried due to flood, adding that a lot is needed to be done for the flood affectees. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami proved at every moment that it is standing with the suppressed, adding that loss has been occurred at large scale. He said that the whole nation should help the flood affectees with national and religious fervor. He said that the residents of Islamabad have done exemplary work and Islamabad is at the forefront in provision of aid. He said that so far Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has received cash and relief goods worth over Rs 6 billion.
Liaqat Baloch said that the rulers should take step for construction of dams and water reservoirs, adding that the national priorities should be fixed and national dialogue should be initiated for this purpose. He said that JI will become voice of all the affectees of the country.
Deputy Chief JI Pakistan Mian Muhammad Aslam, JI Islamabad Emir Nasrullah Randhawa, Senior Vice President Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry Jamshed Akhtar Sheikh, President Alkhidmat Foundation North Punjab Rizwan Ahmed and others also addressed the ceremony. It was the 5th convoy comprising of the relief goods which has been dispatched from Islamabad. So far relief goods costing Rs 150 million have been sent from Islamabad for the flood affectees.
