Doctors & medical staff hold protest demonstration at RGH against the disappearance of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry

RAWALPINDI, May 31 (SABAH): Doctors and medical staff held a protest demonstration at Railway General Hospital on Friday against the disappearance of the country’s renowned pediatrician and Head of the Pediatrics Department at a local college, Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry. They held banners and placards demanding the immediate recovery of Dr. Muhammad Tahir.

Officials of the Doctors Action Committee stated that Dr. Muhammad Tahir was taken by unknown individuals from his clinic in Rawalpindi on the afternoon of May 29, and no information has been obtained about him since then. Doctors said that this incident has caused a wave of concern within the doctors’ community, leaving doctors and medical workers deeply worried.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), Pakistan Pediatric Association, and other professional bodies of healthcare professionals have also expressed severe concern over the disappearance of Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir and have demanded his immediate recovery from the higher authorities.
