Democracy is standing on the basis of boots, turncoats & notes: Sirajul Haq
ISLAMABAD, Nov 19, (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that democracy is standing on the basis of boots, turncoats and notes. He said that all the rulers have looted the toshakhana, someone brought with him the precious vehicles, someone brought necklace, someone pen and someone watches. He said that Pakistan is included in top 10 countries in terms of the perks and privileges of the judges but in terms of performance judiciary is at 128th number out of 180 countries. He said that due to the fear of the snakes and scorpions, the common man fears approaching courts, adding that judicial system has failed in provision of justice.
This was stated by Emir JI Pakistan Sirajul Haq while addressing the lawyers of Islamabad capital on the special invitation of Islamabad Bar Association and Islamabad High Court Bar Association on Saturday. The ceremony was also addressed by President Islamabad Bar Association Shoaib Shaheen Advocate and President Islamabad High Court Bar Association Hafeezullah Yaqoob Advocate. Deputy Chief of the JI Mian Muhammad Aslam, JI Islamabad Emir Nasrullah Randhawa, Saifullah Gondal and former president Islamabad High Court Bar Association Javed Saleem Shorish were also present on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq said that lawyers and JI while joining hands should announce the rebellion against the status quo, adding that if the lawyers themselves are scared and suppressed before this outdated system then it is the disgrace of their own position. Sirajul Haq said that the matter of appointment of chief of army staff (COAS) should not be left on the mercy of the political leaders. He said that the method of appointment of chief justice of Pakistan should be used for the appointment of the chief of army staff and seniority should be made merit, adding that he is thankful to Imran Khan for supporting his stance on this issue.
Sirajul Haq said that he extends invitation to all the political parties for holding negotiations regarding striking new social contract on supremacy of the constitution, electoral reforms and civilian supremacy. He said the establishment has announced that now they will not come in the politics, adding that devising mechanism regarding this is necessary.
Sirajul Haq said that there is heap of loans on the country, the country has to pay Rs 62 trillion loans, adding that every day Pakistan is taking Rs 23 billion loan. He said that the people come in the parliament on the basis of wealth and not on the basis of competence. He said that politics is revolving around the falsehood, adding that rebellion from this system is must.
