Decline in inflation & continuous decrease in petroleum prices are directly benefiting the common man: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the inflation rate reaching a 44-month low.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, PM Shehbaz Sharif said the decline in inflation and continuous decrease in petroleum prices are directly benefiting the common man.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said country’s economy is stable, diplomatic relations are strong, and the journey towards the common man’s prosperity has begun.

He said the IMF program’s implementation will bring further stability to the economy.

Meanwhile inflation rate has come to the lowest level of 6.9 percent in the country in the last four years as a result of prudent economic policies of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the inflation rate was recorded as 6.93 percent during the last month, whereas it was 9.6 percent in August this year.

On monthly basis, inflation came down by zero point five percent.  A reduction in prices of sixteen edible items, including tomato, vegetable, flour, pulses, cooking oil, as well as chicken and bakery products were recorded.
