CTD deems Karachi airport suicide bombing a conspiracy to undermine Pakistan-China relations
KARACHI, Oct 12 (SABAH): Significant developments have emerged in the suicide bombing case near Karachi Airport, with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) characterising the attack as a conspiracy to undermine Pakistan-China relations.
The CTD presented its preliminary report to the anti-terrorism court, which indicated the involvement of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in the bombing.
The report claimed that the attackers executed the blast with assistance from a foreign intelligence agency hostile to Pakistan.
An unidentified terrorist drove their vehicle close to a convoy carrying Chinese nationals before detonating the bomb.
The report detailed that the explosion occurred near the CAA guard room near the outer terminal of Jinnah International Airport.
Police arrived shortly after hearing the blast, discovering injured individuals, including police and Rangers personnel.

According to the report, over a dozen individuals, including Waqar, Ilyas, Naeem, Rano Khan, Azeem, Tariq, Ali, Hamza, and Sabeeh, were injured in the blast. The BLA has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
The CTD report stated that the explosion completely destroyed 15 vehicles. A case has been registered at the Airport police station under various charges, including murder, attempted murder, assault, explosive substances, and terrorism.
