Crime in Karachi cannot be overcome until induction of local police is done: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

KARACHI, April 1 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that crime in Karachi cannot be overcome until induction of local police is done. He said locals be inducted in the Karachi police and black sheep be eradicated.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq on Monday. On this occasion, General Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Munim Zafar Khan, Secretary Public Aid Committee Najeeb Ayubi, vice president public aid committee Imran Shahid and others were present.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi stressed upon provincial interior minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar to take back his statement regarding high rate of crime in the city and apologize from the people. He said that dacoits of kacha and pakka are being supported by the government of Sindh. Only during Ramadan, 10 citizens lost their lives while during this year 49 individuals were killed by the dacoits.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said increasing inflation and high prices of gas, electricity and petrol have put the lives of the people in difficulty. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami would not leave the people on the mercy of the government which came into existence through spurious mandate. After Eid-ul-Fitr, Jamaat-e-Islami would actively run movement against the imposed government.

“On Juma Tul Wida, there is Youmul Quds. On appeal of Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, they would observe Youmul Quds,” he said. He also appreciated the participation of large number of Karachiitis in “Shab Yekjehti Gaza.” 

He further said that people would not accept any attempt regarding recognition of Israel and supremacy of India. He said that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and Palestine is important for Muslims in connection with their beliefs. 

He said Nawaz Sharif has been talking about ending quarrels and disagreements between the two countries. Did India deteriorate economy of Pakistan, he questioned, and added in fact slaves of the US and agents of international Monetary Fund have destroyed economy of the country.
