Country’s exports should be in line with market trends, quality: President RCCI Saqib Rafiq

RAWALPINDI, Dec 29 (SABAH): The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) urged the government of Pakistan to capitalize on exportable services and products requiring minimal infrastructure and investments.

RCCI President Saqib Rafiq while addressing “Corporate Clients Seminar” hosted by Wah Nobel Group at Islamabad Club, said that being competitive, a country’s exports should be in line with market trends and quality, and be certified on internationally acceptable standards.

He said that Pakistan has its great importance with respect to strategic location. We can tap Central Asia and Africa for non-conventional sectors like Information technology, Services, Hospitality and Pharmaceutical.

Central Asian countries are landlocked countries, the only and nearer Sea Port is Gwadar. This has immense potential especially in the Agri market. Mangos, RICE and Oranges already have great demand in these countries, he added.

Saqib Rafiq said that Pakistan is among the economies where digitization is triggering changes in some components of the service sector. Businesses are also capitalizing on opportunities emerging from digitization, such as supply chain efficiency, lower transaction cost and enhanced flexibility in addressing consumer needs.
