Corruption is eating country’s resources like termite: Sirajul Haq
LAHORE, Nov 28 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq Tuesday stated the corruption was eating the country’s resources like termite while accountability institutions were of no use, as corruption amounting Rs 5 trillion corruption was being committed annually, with no accountability.
Expressing his views at Mansoorah, Sirajul Haq stated the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were on their own a barrier in the way of enforcing a culture of accountability as duo of them played havoc with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and further claimed the ruling parties were staunch supporters of status-quo and faithful to oppressive agenda.
Emir JI was of the view there was no scarcity of resources in the land of ours whereas main problem was of their unjust division. He added on one side only two percent ruling junta was gripping the State affairs while on the other side millions of citizens were deprived of fundamental resources, saying families’ monarchies ruined the country. PDM and PTI were exposed in front of the masses due to their incompetency, he elaborated.
Sirajul Haq stated the Jamaat-e-Islami was inclined to establish a society with ingredients of justice and equality in the light of Islam as “we were putting in efforts to bring the religion of Almighty Allah to the power corridors.” He furthered they were struggling to putting an end to interest-based economy of the homeland, saying all their conflicts revolve around the safeguard of rights of people.
He said the rulers committed financial, moral and administrative corruption as nation’s uplift doesn’t fall under their preference but safeguarding their own interests. “If our rulers were hand over the rule of China, Japan or any European country, they would surely play havoc with them,” he claimed.
Sirajul Haq stated instead of playing lip service and wishful thinking by the rulers they were supposed to showcase their performance before the nation. [With a view of validating his point further], he added over 85 citizens of Pakistan were without potable water where the rulers were supposed to tell [us] how many of them were provided with clean drinking water besides 25 million out-of-school children. “Can ruling junta tell us how many of them were sent to school? How a country could develop where 25 million were out-of-school children,” he questioned. Lastly, he stressed upon the masses to exercise their right of franchise in favour of Jamaat-e-Islami for transforming this country into an “Islamic Welfare State.”
