Corruption has reached to level that the entire wealth of IMF will fall short to fix national economy: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, June 04 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the corruption has reached to level that the entire wealth of the IMF will fall short to fix the national economy.

The incapable and corrupt rulers were the real problems of the country, Sirajul Haq said while addressing the newly-elected members of the JI Shura (consultative council) at Mansoorah on Saturday.

The JI chief will brief the media about the decisions taken in the session on the conclusion of the Shura session on Sunday and also inaugurate the 10-day promotion campaign of JI electoral symbol trazo (scale).

Sirajul Haq said the 13 political parties were in power in center and provinces while the PTI was ruling over KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir and they all virtually failed to provide any relief to the masses.

Sirajul Haq said the governments of the so-called democratic parties and dictators had given nothing to the country in 75 years. He said it was due to the corrupt rulers that the economy was on the verge of collapse, institutions were weak and the country was burdened with billions of dollars debt. The different governments, he said, had so far signed 22 programs with the IMF and they all failed to bring any improvement to the national economy. Pakistan had enough resources to stand on its feet but how the things could be fixed when the wealth and resources were only spent on the “welfare” of the ruling elite, he said.

The JI chief said since the major political parties had badly exposed, the JI could emerge as the choice of the public. For this, he added, the JI would actively promote its message among the masses. The JI, he said, talked about the rights of the masses and rule of law. The JI, he said, will go to the election under its own symbol and election manifesto “Corruption Free Islamic Pakistan.” If voted to power, he vowed, the JI would introduce real change.
