Corps investiture ceremonies held in Rawalpindi & Karachi


RAWALPINDI, May 20 (SABAH): Corps investiture ceremony of Rawalpindi Corps was held at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to ISPR, Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza conferred 89 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), 36 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 19 Tamgha-i-Basalat to Army officers and soldiers for their meritorious services to the nation. Next of kins of Shuhada received their awards posthumously.

Meanwhile Karachi Corps Investiture ceremony was held at Malir Cantt, Karachi.

Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Eleven Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 15 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 10 Tamgha-e-Basalat were conferred to officers, soldiers and families of Shuhadas for rendering meritorious services to the nation.

The ceremony was attended by Army officials and shuhada families.

Speaking on the occasion, the Corp Commander paid rich tribute to Shuhadas.
