Convince those who matter, not Imran: Senator Irfan Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD, April 03 (SABAH): Senior PML-N leader and head of the party’s parliamentary group in the Senate, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, has said that instead of trying to convince Imran Khan, PTI leaders should focus on persuading those with whom negotiations are actually needed.

Speaking to a digital television channel (ABN) outside Parliament House, Senator Siddiqui stated that Imran Khan has already been convinced and has been calling out from the rooftops for the past one and a half years, pleading with the establishment to listen to him. However, the only response he has received is that “politicians should talk to politicians.”

He dismissed recent statements from PTI leaders as internal party conflicts rather than matters related to the government or the establishment. “Whoever gets access to Adiala Jail tries to make themselves relevant by dropping a dramatic statement,” he remarked.

Senator Siddiqui further said that PTI is deeply fractured from within, with no one truly concerned about either Imran Khan or the party itself—everyone is pushing their own personal agenda. The party’s affairs, he added, have turned into a “circus spectacle.”

He mocked the idea of trying to persuade Imran Khan, saying, “The real question is not about convincing him, but rather persuading those with whom he has been desperately trying to negotiate for the last one and a half years.”
