Construction of new homes in KPK begins for flood victims under Alkhidmat Foundation’s Tameer-e-Watan Project
LAHORE, Dec 08 (SABAH): Construction of new homes has begun in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for flood victims under Alkhidmat Foundation’s Tameer-e-Watan Project. In KPK, 1,500 homes will be built with the cost of Rs 150 million and construction materials valuing over 100,000 to be provided for construction of a single home.
A simple and honorable ceremony was held at district Tank in connection with beginning of building work which was participated by Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat, President Alkhidmat Foundation Tank Muhammad Haroon Baloch and Assistant Commissioner Tank Ameen Ullah, flood victims and notables of the area.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat stated the Alkhidmat Foundation was keeping on every possible support to the flood victims. After rescue and relief activities, he furthered the support with regard to building homes under Alkhidmat’s Tameer-e-Watan Project was underway.
He stated that 1,500 homes will be built with the cost of Rs 150 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and added the victims were being supplied with blocks, readymade ceilings, cement and washroom related materials and continued a nearby ceiling and block factory has been inaugurated in view of everyday intensifying condition of cold.
Initially, he went on to state that ceilings of 100 homes have been prepared whereas from 300 to 400 ceilings will also be readied to provide durable shelter to flood victims. These will be transported to the homes of affected people and they will be assisted in their fitting as well, he added.
Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat stated the repair work on partially damaged schools, seminaries and mosques was also afoot and continued Alkhidmat Foundation had consumed Rs 10 billion on relief and rescue related activities whereas initially, projects of rehabilitation and construction costing Rs 5 billion were underway.
