CJP Qazi Faez Isa is not interested in any extension: Azam Nazeer Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Sep 02 (SABAH): Minister for Law and Justice Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazeer Tarar Advocate has said the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa is not interested in any extension.

In his televised remarks on Monday, Azam Nazeer Tarar mentioned that during a meeting, the Chief Justice of Pakistan has unambiguously stated of not desirous of extension. The Law Minister emphasized that the Chief Justice of Pakistan is an upright person and a constitutional office holder. He asserted there should be no further discussion on the matter.

He asserted that Chief Justice Isa was a distinguished figure and reiterated that continuous speculation about the extension was unfounded. Azam Nazeer Tarar urged the media to shift focus to other topics. Azam Nazeer Tarar argued that the debate over a two-thirds majority was relevant only if an extension was being considered.
