Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong holds meeting with Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, both discuss issues of flood-hit areas


LAHORE, Sep 29 (SABAH): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong has held a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq.

Both sides discussed matters of flood-hit areas rehabilitation, Kashmir and other bilateral interests, according to a statement issued by the Jamaat-e-Islami’s media cell in Mansoorah on Thursday.

Held on the invitation of Mr Rong at Chinese ambassy in Islamabad, the meeting was also attended by JI secretary general Ameerul Azim, JI Foreign Affair Department director Asif Luqman Qazi and al-Khidmat Foundation president Abdushakoor.

The JI Emir thanked the Chinese aid for flood-hit area, hoping the neighboring country would continue support in rehabilitation phase. He also impressed upon the Chinese envoy that strong Pak-China relations were vital for the development and the stability of the region.

He said CPEC would not only prove beneficial for the development of Pakistan but its completion linked to the prosperity of entire region.

 He called for expediting work on the multi-billion project, particularly focusing Balochistan and its people benefit. The JI Emir had a detailed discussion with the Chinese diplomat on the situation in Kashmir.

He said that strong and unwavering stance of China on the Kashmir issue was a source of strength and satisfaction for the people of Kashmir and Pakistan and they were highly indebted to the people and the government of China in this regard.

He hoped China would continue diplomatic steps to stop the brutalities of the Indian occupation forces in held Kashmir. He said peace in the region was vital for the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The Chinese diplomat was also briefed about the al-Khidmat welfare activities in flood-hit area. Nong expressed desire to work with the JI and its charity al-Khidmat in welfare of flood affected people.

He said China gave key importance to Jamaat-e-Islami and its leader Sirajul Haq. He said China would continue legal and moral support of Pakistan at international forum.
