Children & women will suffer, if the humanitarian aid does not reach Afghanistan: President Alvi
ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the world community to pay special attention towards protecting children and women from the havoc of wars and conflicts.
Addressing an event regarding the World Children Day in Islamabad on Saturday, President Dr. Arif Alvi warned children and women will suffer, if the humanitarian aid does not reach Afghanistan.
The President also voiced his concerns over the plight of children in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
On the domestic front, the President emphasized the need for making differently-abled children functional members of the society.
He pointed out that the present government has started a special program for two million disabled people under which each person will be provided monthly assistance of two thousand rupees.
