Chief Minister Murad asks Karachi residents to stay indoors amid heavy rainfall
KARACHI, July 24 (SABAH): As rain lashes Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday urged the citizens to limit their moments and stay in houses amid the third spell of rain in the city.
During his visit to the different parts of city to see the situation, Murad reviewed the working of the drainage system and strongly appealed to the people to don’t enjoy the rainfall as a part of a picnic.
Citing the reason for the opening of main holes to drain the canals during the rainfall, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has advised the parents to not allow their children to play on roads and keep them restricted at home.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rains are expected to continue till July 26. More rain with wind and thundershower is expected in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next twelve hours.
However, scattered heavy falls are likely in south Punjab, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and eastern Balochistan while very heavy falls in Sindh.
Heavy rainfall in different areas of Karachi and other cities including Hyderabad has led to problems for the locals due to inundation of low-lying areas.
