Chaudhry Sarwar unveils commemorative coin & postage stamp of UET
LAHORE, Jan 05 (SABAH): University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized Unveiling Ceremony of Commemorative Coin and Postage Stamp on the completion of 100 years of university.
Chancellor University/Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar unveiled the commemorative coin and postage stamp. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Chairman LESCO, former Vice Chancellor Government College University Dr. Khaliq-Ur-Rehman, former Vice chancellor Education University Dr. Faizul Hassan, Managing Director NESPAK Dr. Tahir Masood, DG Pakistan Mint Raja Fayyaz Anwar, Deputy Director General Pakistan Mint Muhammad Ashraf Chaudhry, Azhar Iqbal from State Bank of Pakistan, Dean of all Faculties, Chairman of all departments, Registrar, Faculty and staff members attended the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, Governor Punjab Said, “I am feeling immense pleasure on attending today’s ceremony of unveiling of Centennial Commemorative Coin and Postage Stamp on completion of 100 years of establishment of this prestigious institution. The journey of UET Lahore from Mughalpura Technical College founded in 1921 to the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore with many sub-campuses, affiliated colleges, research centers, thousands of alumni serving around the world, and more than 780 faculty members including 365 Ph.D. degree holders, demonstrates the pursuit of excellence of the administration, faculty members and students. UET has grown from a college to a prestigious Pakistani university ranked among the top 200 Asian universities. What a difference a century can make! The contribution of UET to a myriad of fields and disciplines evidently exhibits the magnitude of diligence, efficiency, and collaboration aimed at solving major social, educational, and technical problems through research projects and quality education. I am glad to recognize that UET Lahore is a flag bearer in quality engineering education with the largest number of OBE accredited programs in the country.”

Addressing the Participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar paid tribute to all present and past teachers and staff for making the university one of finest and student learning their top priority. Their hard work has made UET the best university in the world and Asia today, he added. He also vowed to continue the traditions of the glorious past in the future.
