‘Charting a Path to Peace: Conference calls for urgent UN action on Kashmir Resolution’
MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 05 (SABAH): In a landmark event held on Friday, the Institute of Dialogue Development & Diplomatic Studies (IDDDS) orchestrated a pivotal conference titled “5th Jan United Nations Resolution on Kashmir” at the Postgraduate Degree College in Muzaffarabad. This gathering convened experts, students, and key stakeholders to deliberate various dimensions of the Kashmir issue, focusing on the historical context, humanitarian concerns, and the role of the United Nations in fostering diplomatic resolutions.
The conference featured a keynote address by Dr. Waleed Rasool, Director of IDDDS and renowned international relations expert. Dr. Rasool provided profound insights into the historical background of the occupied Kashmir conflict, emphasizing the crucial role that the United Nations can play in addressing this complex issue through diplomatic means. Throughout the event, panel discussions and workshops delved
into the historical context and current situation of the Kashmir issue, with a particular emphasis on the role of the United Nations in navigating towards resolutions that are both meaningful and diplomatic.
A primary objective of the conference was to urge the United Nations to play an active and effective role in resolving the longstanding occupied Kashmir conflict. The discussions aimed to contribute to a diplomatic resolution that respects the rights and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. Dr. Kareem Principle of the Postgraduate Degree College, also took the stage as a distinguished speaker, expressing insights on the importance of educational institutions in promoting dialogue and understanding. Students actively participated in the conference, engaging in interactive panel discussions and leading workshops. Pakistan’s role in supporting the cause for a peaceful resolution was highlighted during the conference.

Additionally, the conference shed light on the vital role of the youth in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
