Ceasefire in Yemen after seven years of war which has taken 400,000 Yemenis lives is welcome: Sherry Rehman


ISLAMABAD, April 06 (SABAH): Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Senate and Chairperson Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Sherry Rehman  has said that the ceasefire in Yemen after seven years of war which has taken 400,000 Yemenis lives is welcome.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Sherry Rehman said that the goal after this Ramzan truce is a complete ceasefire after peace talks. With 30 million Yemenis afflicted and in need of humanitarian aid this is indeed the gravest crisis in the world, she said.

“The ceasefire in Yemen after 7 years of war which has taken 400,000 Yemenis lives is welcome.The goal after this Ramzan truce is a complete ceasefire after peace talks. Meanwhile Sherry Rehman said that we strongly condemn the abusive behaviour some honourable members of the press had to face from former ministers this morning outside the court. The media is free to ask us legitimate questions. Why is PTI so intolerant of fair questions? She said that PPP always stands with the media against harassment.
