Burhanuddin Hijazi was a symbol of wisdom & insight: Syed Salahuddin
MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 9 (SABAH): Emir Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that Burhanuddin Hijazi was a symbol of wisdom and insight.
Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views while addressing a special ceremony which held on the occasion of 25th martyrdom day of Ali Muhammad Dar here on Wednesday.
Emir Hizbul Mujahideen further said that Burhanuddin Hijazi had been appointed on a higher position in the department of police but quit the service when struggle against Indian occupation of Occupied Kashmir began in 1989 and he joined Hizbul Mujahideen.
He further said that Burhanuddin Hijazi trained hundreds of warriors who embraced martyrdom and added still today, people were fighting against Indian occupation of Occupied Kashmir.
Shedding light on the sacrifices of Ali Muhammad Dar, Syed Salahuddin Ahmed remarked that he sacrificed each and everything for the sake of “Freedom Movement.” He was an icon of simplicity and was a example of his own and continued Dar remained in the same status till the last days of his life.
He went on to say that Ali Muhammad Dar paid visits to each and every corner of Indian Occupied Kashmir and motivated the warriors against the enemy and added he was himself very bold; trained the warriors on the same lines.
“At last on Aug 9, 1998, he embraced martyrdom in a fierce skirmishes. Only his few family members were allowed to offer his funeral prayers as occupational administration was scared of any untoward incident on the occasion. His brothers Towsif and Ali Muhammad also scarified their lives for Islam and ‘Freedom Movement,’” he remarked.
“Hizbul Mujahideen pledges that it will remain faithful to the sacrifices of the warriors which were given against illegal, cruel and immoral occupation of India and still those sacrifices are being given for the motif. It is a best way to pay homage to the martyrs, he added.
Syed Salahuddin Ahmed also shed light on the sacrifices of martyr Sheikh Abdul Aziz on the occasion of his 15th martyrdom day. He maintained the nation has not forgotten the way he fought against the enemy valiantly and audaciously. He also prayed for their higher status in paradise.
