Budget is a fruitless effort, govt will have to face resistance from people, budget should be taken back:  Liaqat Baloch

ISLAMABAD, June 12 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that the federal budget 2024-25 is a fruitless effort, the government will have to face public resistance which is why the government should withdraw it and present a new budget with national consensus.

Reacting to the federal budget 2024-25, Liaqat Baloch said in his statement that the budget has been presented on traditional, outdated and destructive bases for the nation and the country. He said the budget will bring a new tsunami of inflation, unemployment and social chaos.  He said that the economic wheel is already jammed and the strict conditions of the IMF will become a punishment house for the economy, industry and trade.

Liaqat Baloch said that it is the height of arrogance of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif government that no action and road map has been proposed to implement the decision of the Federal Shariat Court. He said that it will be more difficult for PPP to support anti-people budget. Youth, women and farmers have been neglected. The salary increase has been announced, but when there is no economic activity, implementation will be impossible, he noted.

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan demanded that the federal government withdraw the budget and present a new budget with national consensus.  He said that Finance Minister Aurangzeb has given a good budget speech but budget is a fruitless effort, the government will have to face resistance from the people.
